Terms of Service
Last updated: July 6, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Coding Quests ("the Platform"), operated by Coding Quests ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform.
2. Description of Service
Coding Quests is an online educational platform providing interactive tutorials, courses, and learning resources focused on Godot 4 game development. The Platform includes free and paid content, gamification features, and community tools.
3. Account Registration
To access certain features, you must create an account through our authentication provider, Memberstack. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent.
4. Subscriptions, Lifetime Access, and Billing
Paid memberships ("Guild Hall") are available either as a recurring subscription (monthly or yearly) or as a one-time "Lifetime Access" purchase. All payments are processed through Stripe. By purchasing, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the plan you selected.
Subscriptions
- Prices are listed in USD and may change with 30 days' notice
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings
- Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period
Lifetime Access
- Lifetime Access is a single, one-time payment. It is not a subscription and never renews
- "Lifetime" refers to the lifetime of the Platform, not the lifetime of the purchaser. Your access lasts for as long as Coding Quests continues to operate and offer the Platform
- Lifetime Access is a personal, non-transferable license to the Platform's paid membership content for a single account. It may not be shared, resold, or transferred to another person or account
- Lifetime Access covers the paid quests and campaigns available on the Platform, including future quests we release as part of the Guild Hall membership. It does not cover products or services we may offer separately from the membership
- The Platform's content evolves over time. We may add, update, replace, or retire individual quests, lessons, and features at our discretion, and doing so does not entitle you to a refund
- If the Platform is permanently discontinued (see Section 8), Lifetime Access ends when the Platform does, and no refund, in whole or in part, will be owed except where required by applicable law
- Lifetime Access may be terminated without refund if you materially violate these Terms (see Section 8)
All sales are final. See our Refund Policy for details.
5. Intellectual Property
Everything on the Platform belongs to Coding Quests and is protected by copyright law. That includes the tutorials, lesson materials, text, graphics, UI design, code examples, and gamification elements.
You may:
- Access and use the content for personal, non-commercial learning
- Use code patterns and techniques learned in your own game projects
You may not:
- Redistribute, resell, or republish course content in any form
- Share your account or login credentials with others
- Record, download, or scrape lesson content for redistribution
- Use our content to create competing educational products
6. Acceptable Use
When using the Platform, you agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Use automated tools to scrape or access the Platform
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
7. User Content and Community Conduct
The Platform includes community features (the "Guild Hall") where members can post text, images, video clips, questions, and replies ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for the User Content you post, and you represent that you have the rights to post it.
Rules for what you post
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. Among other things, you must not post User Content that is sexual or explicit; that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits a minor; that is hateful, harassing, threatening, or violent; that is illegal, or promotes illegal or dangerous activity; that is spam or a scam; that infringes anyone's intellectual property; or that discloses another person's private information.
Zero tolerance for child exploitation
Content that appears to be child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or that sexualizes a minor is strictly prohibited. We will remove it, ban the account, preserve relevant records, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or law enforcement as required by applicable law.
Our rights
We are not obligated to monitor User Content, but we may review, moderate, remove, or restrict any User Content, and suspend or ban any account, at our discretion and without notice, particularly when content violates these Terms or the Community Guidelines. We provide a Report tool on community content; you agree to use it to flag content that breaks the rules rather than retaliating.
License to your content
You keep ownership of your User Content. By posting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content on the Platform for the purpose of operating and providing the community features. This license ends when you or we delete the content, except for copies retained for legal, safety, or backup purposes.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, contact us at info@codingquests.com with a description of the work, the location of the content, and your contact information, and we will review and respond.
8. Termination and Service Changes
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise objectionable.
We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue the Platform, or any part of it, at any time and for any reason, including permanently shutting it down. If we permanently discontinue the Platform, we will make reasonable efforts to give members advance notice, but we do not guarantee that the Platform, or any particular content or feature, will remain available for any period of time. All access, including subscriptions and Lifetime Access, ends when the Platform does, and our liability in that event is limited as described in Section 10.
Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. Sections on intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Content will be accurate, complete, or current at all times
- Any specific learning outcomes or career results will be achieved
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coding Quests shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, providing additional notice (such as via email). Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
13. Contact
