Game Dev Labs
Short experiments about why a game feels good. Each one shows you a problem you have felt as a player. Then you switch the fix on and off, and tune it until it feels right.
They take a few minutes, run in your browser, and need no account. Every lab ends with the Godot code and the quest that builds it properly.

Coyote timeI pressed jump at the edge. Why did I fall?

Hit-stopWhy do my hits feel weightless?
Freeze the game for a few hundredths of a second when a hit lands. Same damage, same sparks, and suddenly the hit has weight.
Combat 4 minBeginner
Attack telegraphsIs my enemy hard, or just unfair?
A slime warns, then swings. Shrink its windup until you cannot react in time, and find the point where hard turns into unfair.

Camera look-aheadWhy can't I see where I'm running?
A centred camera spends half the screen on where you have been. Lean it the way you run and the next pit shows up sooner.

Want to write the code too?
The Godot Game Feel Lab
A bigger lab with a code editor. You write the knockback yourself, in real GDScript, then stack hit-stop, screen shake and sparks on top of it.
